Principal’s Welcome
Every parent wants to ensure they are choosing the best primary school for their child and I welcome the opportunity to provide an overview of what Currambine Primary School can offer your family.
Currambine Primary strives to grow each child’s academic knowledge, skills, sense of wellbeing and intrapersonal skills in an inclusive, engaging and positive learning environment.
Over fifty per cent of our families have come from beyond Currambine Primary School’s boundaries, drawn by our reputation for academic challenge, high standards of student behaviour, a caring and supportive community and deeply-committed staff.
We offer high-quality curriculum tailored to the needs of our students, specialist programs in Physical Education, Music, Visual Art, French and Technologies and a learning environment that focuses on the social and emotional growth of each student. Every student participates in regular social and emotional learning programs as part of the curriculum, designed to improve social skills, enhance mental health and prevent bullying.
With over 780 students and nearly one hundred staff, our school is big enough to provide extensive opportunities, with a leadership structure that
ensures individual attention and support.
As an Independent Public School, we are afforded increased flexibilities and responsibilities to make local decisions across a range of school operations to enhance educational outcomes for students. One of the benefits of this is the privilege of handpicking our staff, and the staff we recruit are deeply committed to the young people in their care.
Our intake of students is from Kindergarten to Year Six. We accept enrolments of students in all year levels, from both inside and outside the school’s boundary. Currambine Primary is proud to be an inclusive school. We welcome students with disabilities and specific learning disorders.
Our school motto, ‘Together Towards Tomorrow’, emphasises the importance we place on our sense of community, our desire to innovate and develop learners prepared for the 21st century. Our school enjoys a strong sense of community. We are keen to have parents and carers actively engaged in their children’s school life through volunteering in class and for school events or contributing to our Parents and Citizens Association or School Board.
I invite you to view the Currambine Primary School Prospectus and welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your child’s education. Further information about the enrolment process and the opportunity to take a tour of our school is available here.
You can also view parent feedback to help get a feel for our school.
I look forward to your family becoming part of our school community and welcome you to contact us should you have any questions: currambine.ps@education.wa.edu.au
Yours sincerely,
Jo Stephens
